14 Nov - James Van Der Beek is auctioning off memorabilia from his past shows for his cancer treatment.

The auction, which will be organised by the Propstore's Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction from 5 to 7 December, will feature items like a necklace from "Dawson's Creek," the same one his character gave to Katie Holmes' Joey Potter, as well as a white jumper that his character wore on the show.

He is also auctioning the cleats worn by his character Jonathan Moxon in "Varsity Blues" among others.

Said the actor, "I've been storing these treasures for years, waiting for the right time to do something with them, and with all of the recent unexpected twists and turns life has presented recently, it's clear that the time is now."

"While I have some nostalgia tugging at me as I part with these items, it feels good to be able to offer them through Propstore's auction to share with those who have supported my work over the years," he added.

The 48-year-old actor was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in August 2023, though it was only made public the year after.
