19 Nov - The upcoming Karthi movie, "Vaa Vaathiyar" has been delayed a week from its original release date.

The movie, which marks the actor's first and only lead role this year, will be released on 12 December instead of the original date of 5 December. The cause of the delay is said to be some final shoots that are still going on.

An action-comedy film, "Vaa Vaathiyar" revolves around an MGR fan who believes his grandson shares a special connection with the legend. As time passes, the boy grows up to become Ramu (Karthi), a fun-loving, easy-going police officer, but certain unexpected events put his grandfather's life in danger.

It co-stars Krithi Shetty, Shilpa Manjunath, Rajkiran, Anand Raj and Sathyaraj in key parts, and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy.

Karthi was last seen in 2024's "Meiyazhagan," playing the titular role. He also made a cameo appearance in the Telugu film, "HIT: The Third Case" back in May.
