"Love Insurance Kompany" postpones release to avoid clash with "Dude"

15 Oct - The makers of "Love Insurance Kompany" (LIK) have announced its new release date of 18 December, postponing the film from its original 17 October - Deepavali slot. The decision was made to avoid a box office clash with "Dude", another film starring Pradeep Ranganathan that is set to release on 17 October as well.

Why the Postponement?
Seven Screen Studio, the official distributors, explained the move in a statement on their official channel: "Like two trains on the same track, a head-on collision helps no one. With genuine concern for our beloved hero Pradeep Ranganathan and respect for the efforts behind both films, we've thoughtfully decided to reschedule."

The production team attempted to coordinate with Mythri Movies, the producers of "Dude", but were unable to reach a mutual agreement on alternative dates.

"Love Insurance Kompany" is a science fiction romantic comedy directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures. The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah in pivotal roles. It features music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Ravi Varman.

"Dude", written and directed by Keerthiswaran, marks his directorial debut. It is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and also stars - in addition to Pradeep - Sai Abhyankkar, Mamitha Baiju and R. Sarathkumar.

Well, here's the good news! Pradeep Ranganathan fans will now get to enjoy both films within a two-month window, with "Dude" releasing during Deepavali and "Love Insurance Kompany" arriving in December.

However, the new release date for "Love Insurance Kompany" for Malaysia and Singapore has not been officially confirmed but we expect it to be around the revised 18 December.
