"Malam Terlarang" made RM7 million since end of October

"Malam Terlarang" haunts box office

12 Nov - The viral horror film "Malam Terlarang" has now amassed RM 7 million at the box office, not two weeks after it was released in theatres.

Sharing the news on social media, Astro Shaw expressed, "Thank you to everybody who has watched 'Malam Terlarang'. To those who are still afraid to watch, let's go together now!"

The movie, which was released on 30 October, stars Zul Ariffin, Sofia Jane, and Shasha Abedul, is set in 1987, when an 18-year-old girl begins to suspect that her family is haunted by a sinister entity following her sister's death.

As she investigates the eerie disturbances, she uncovers horrifying truths about her family's past.

Executive Producer of "Malam Terlarang" and Head of Astro Shaw, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, said that the success proves the positive reception towards local horror films.

"We are thankful for the extraordinary support from the cinemagoers who chose to watch the movie in theatres," she added.
