9 Dec - While Paul Dano has not made any comments regarding Quentin Tarantino's controversial criticism of his performance in "There Will Be Blood," Matthew Lillard has broken his silence about being named in the filmmaker's recent rant.

Last week, Tarantino sparked industry backlash when he appeared on Bret Easton Ellis' podcast to discuss his favourite films of the 21st century. While listing "There Will Be Blood" at number five, he launched into an expletive-filled tirade against Dano, calling him "weak sauce" and "the limpest d**k in the world," claiming the actor was a "giant flaw" in the otherwise acclaimed film.

The remarks prompted an outpouring of support for Dano from Hollywood heavyweights including Matt Reeves, Ben Stiller, Alec Baldwin, and Toni Collette, who worked with the actor on various projects.

Now, Lillard - who Tarantino also named alongside Dano and Owen Wilson as actors he "doesn't care for" - has responded publicly. Speaking at a fan convention, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" actor dismissed Tarantino's opinion with a blunt, "Who gives a s***."

"The point is that it hurts your feelings. It f*****g sucks," Lillard admitted. "And you wouldn't say that to Tom Cruise. You wouldn't say that to somebody who's a top-line actor in Hollywood. I'm very popular in this room. I'm not very popular in Hollywood," Lillard added. "Two totally different microcosms, right? And so, you know, it's humbling and it hurts."

His words were met with thunderous applause from fans, who also booed upon the mention of Tarantino's name. One fan also shouted, "We love you!" and received a thank you from Lillard.
