10 Jan- Several high-profile celebrities have lost their homes in the devastating wildfires that began ravaging parts of Los Angeles on 7 January. The fires, which started in Pacific Palisades and have grown to over 15,000 acres, have resulted in multiple evacuations and significant property damage.

Veteran actor Billy Crystal and his wife Janice lost their Pacific Palisades home of 46 years. In a statement to PEOPLE, Crystal expressed their heartbreak, "Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away."

Actress Mandy Moore's Altadena residence was also destroyed in the fire. She recently posted a video from inside her car as she passed by her neighbourhood that is continuously being ravaged by the fire. "I love you, Altadena. Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets)," she posted.

Actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester's USD6.5 million Pacific Palisades home, purchased in 2019, was reduced to ruins. Their home is severely damaged with its roof burnt away and windows shattered.

Other celebrities who have been forced to evacuate include Mark Hamill, Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, and Ricki Lake.

Sadly, the fires have also claimed five lives so far, according to fire officials.

According to CalFire, multiple wildfires throughout the Los Angeles area remain largely uncontained and the officials continue to monitor the situation as firefighters work to contain the blazes.
