8 Aug - Despite the passing of Black Sabbath's frontman Ozzy Osbourne, Sony recently confirmed that the biopic project concerning the Osbournes will move forward as usual.

A representative for Polygram Entertainment has confirmed that the legendary couple's film is still being worked on at Sony Pictures and that they're currently in negotiations with a director, which could be confirmed very soon.

The project was first announced by Sony back in 2021, stating that the movie will be heavily revolved around Ozzy's relationship with Sharon, his wife and manager. Lee Hall, who wrote the Elton John biopic, "Rocketman" was reported to have been hired to pen the script.

Sharon, as well as the couple's two children Jack and Aimee were attached to produce alongside Polygram's Michele Anthony and David Blackman, as well as Sony's Andrea Giannetti.

In a previous interview, Ozzy stated that he wanted someone relatively unknown to play him in his biopic instead of a big star "like Johnny Depp".

Ozzy Osbourne passed away on 22 July after a heart attack. He was 76.
