"Sheriff: Narko Integriti" is the biggest movie in Malaysia in 2024

10 Feb - It was good news for the local movie industry after it was revealed that "Sheriff: Narko Integriti", directed by Shafiq Yusof, emerged as the highest-grossing film last year, surpassing even Hollywood films like "Deadpool & Wolverine.

The movie made RM60.5 million at the box office when it was released in April last year, which is twice the amount the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer film made at RM32.5 million.

Astro Shaw Head, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad expressed her gratitude that the films produced by Astro Shaw were able to have an impact on the audience as well as gain recognition on the awards stage.

"We are deeply committed to delivering compelling stories with high-quality productions and aim to lead change in our film industry," she said. "Being in the Top 10 highest-grossing films in Malaysia proves the hard work of our team, in front of or behind the scenes."

Aside from "Sheriff", Astro Shaw also made it to the top 10 with "Takluk: Lahad Datu", which made RM26.9 million.
