16 May - British actor Simon Pegg recently revealed a nerve-wracking experience involving global K-pop sensation BTS during an interview with Epik High while promoting his latest film, "Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning."

The star, known for his role as tech expert Benji in the "Mission Impossible" franchise, recounted taking his daughter to a BTS concert in Las Vegas in 2022. What made this experience special wasn't just attending the performance but having the rare opportunity to meet the group backstage before the show.

During the interview, Pegg described the members of BTS as exceptionally welcoming and gracious during their interaction. The evening proceeded wonderfully, with father and daughter enjoying the spectacular performance.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn the following day when Pegg and his family began experiencing symptoms of illness. "We had COVID, and for the next five days, we were checking the news constantly to make sure BTS didn't have a cold," Pegg admitted with a laugh. "We were like, oh my god, what have we done to BTS?!"

The actor's admission revealed not only his daughter's enthusiasm for the K-idol group but also that Pegg himself is an ARMY (BTS's dedicated fanbase).

Pegg humorously compared the anxiety-filled days of monitoring news about BTS's health to a mission unlike those in his action films - one filled with genuine concern rather than choreographed danger.

The anecdote has resonated with fans online, many of whom appreciated the actor's honesty and humour in sharing what could have been a mortifying scenario: potentially being responsible for infecting one of the world's most popular musical acts!

What a big sigh of relief it was for the actor when there were no reports of the band members falling ill following their encounter with the Pegg family.
