14 Oct - The 62nd Asia-Pacific Film Festival (APFF), set to run from 29 November to 6 December 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has announced that acclaimed Hong Kong actor Simon Yam will be presented with the festival's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Known for his magnetic screen presence and wide-ranging performances, Simon Yam has appeared in over 200 films across genres, from crime thrillers and action blockbusters to arthouse dramas. His most notable works include "Election", "PTU", "Kill Zone - S.P.L.", "Exiled", and "Eye in the Sky", as well as international projects such as "Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life".

In addition to his prolific acting career, Simon Yam is celebrated for his contributions to elevating Hong Kong cinema on the global stage, inspiring generations of actors and filmmakers throughout Asia.

Simon Yam said: "I am deeply grateful to APFF for this honour - it means a great deal to me at this stage of my career, and it serves as an encouragement to continue doing what I love. Aron Koh, Organising Chairman of the 62nd Asia-Pacific Film Festival, said: "The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of APFF's most prestigious honours, presented to individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the art of cinema across the Asia-Pacific region."

The 62nd APFF is organised by Lomo Pictures Sdn. Bhd., endorsed by the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia-Pacific (FPA), and supported by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
