8 Dec - Despite the last "Men in Black" being universally panned, it was revealed that Sony is planning to release another movie in the franchise.

The studio has reportedly hired "Bad Boys For Life" scribe Chris Bremner to write a new screenplay for a fifth "Men in Black" film. No director has been attached nor any announcement was made regarding the cast.

The 1997 film, adapted from Lowell Cunningham's Marvel Comics series, stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. The movie focuses on a secret government agency that polices extraterrestrial activities on Earth.

The success of the first film brought about two more movies in 2002 and 2012.
