SRK calls "King" role one of his most interesting characters yet

4 Nov - Shah Rukh Khan has recently shared several titbits about his new movie, "King", saying that it was one of the most interesting characters he has ever played.

In a viral video from the meet-and-greet that the Bollywood star held to celebrate his birthday, he shared that he had discussed the role with director Siddharth Anand, and expressed how much he doesn't want to play a hero who "comes in the same shots, sings two songs, fights two fights and then leave."

"So, the character of King is very interesting. Siddharth and Sujoy have written it with a lot of love. And there are a lot of evils in him. He is a murderer, he kills people and doesn't even ask, 'how many.. he never asked'," he said.

"So, not to say it's a villain or not... Yes, he's a very dark character. A very grey character. And I think he will be very interesting. He is very ruthless... it's not that I am playing a villain or just a negative role. This role is very good and very interesting. So, I think the film, the way Sid has done it, is very interesting and on a big scale. So, I hope you enjoy, just the character."

SRK stated that it is important for an actor like him to have variety in their roles, whether it be inspiring, aspirational, or even romantic.

"So now I am trying to do this, friend. Now I make a good big film every one or two years, because I also know that making films has become a little more difficult now. So, we should make it very carefully, so that we don't let you down," he added.

The first teaser of "King" was recently released on social media. The movie also co-stars SRK's daughter Suhana Khan, as well as big names like Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.
