7 May - Shah Rukh Khan made history when he became the first Bollywood male actor to appear at the red carpet at the 2025 MET Gala.

The actor arrived at the event wearing an all-black single-breasted suit by Sabyasachi, who previously dressed Alia Bhatt at last year's event. The attire, which is paired with layers of statement necklaces, a huge bejewelled K pendant and a cane, is the designer's interpretation of the theme this year, which is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style".

However, a video of SRK did go viral, when a journalist asked him to introduce himself. Many took to social media to express ire over reporters not knowing one of the biggest global stars.

One netizen posted, "It's 2025. If you're covering the MET Gala, you should know who Shah Rukh Khan is."

On the other hand, when asked about his look, the actor said, "It's an expression of freedom, trying to be resolute and resilient against things that can oppress you."

Aside from Shah Rukh, other new faces at the gala from India include Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh. The pregnant Kiara wore a black gown embellished with golden breastplates by Gaurav Gupta, while Diljit is seen in an all-white ensemble by Prabal Gurung.
