1 Oct - James Gunn's "Superman" continues to be the favourite superhero this year, as it has racked up the most global viewers following its premiere on HBO Max.

The movie, which stars David Corenswet as the iconic superhero, made its premiere on the said streamer after a 70-day theatrical window on 19 September to a 13 million viewers since then, marking the largest 10-day audience since December 2023.

The previous record was held by Greta Gerwig's "Barbie".

It is noted that Gunn previously chose to put the movie on Premium VOD so that the movie can be watched at home in time for the premiere of Season 2 of "Peacemaker". It is noted that the sixth episode of season 2 (which has Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor featured in it) has been revealed to be the bridge to the upcoming "Superman: Man of Tomorrow", which Gunn previously described as "a Lex Luthor movie as much as it is a Superman movie".

The superhero film, the first one since Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC, made USD 615.6 million at the box office when it was released back in July.
