28 Apr - "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" emerged the big winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards, bagging nine accolades including Best Director and Best Picture.
The film, directed by Soi Cheang, won most of its trophies in the technical category, including Best Editing, Cinematography, Art Direction, Costume & Make-Up, Sound Design, Visual Effects and Action Choreography. This is Soi's back-to-back Best Director win, after last year's "Mad Fate".
Meanwhile, "The Last Dance", which was award festivals' favourite last year, won five accolades which are Best Screenplay, Best Actress for Michelle Wai, Best Supporting Actor for Chu Pak Hong, Best Original Film Score and Best Original Film Song. Michael Hui, who was a favourite to win Best Actor, however, lost to Sean Lau, who won for "Papa".
