25 Nov - Magic is in the air for "Wicked: For Good" as the movie smashes records at the box office in its Thanksgiving opening week.

The film, which is the second and final part of the book-turned-Broadway musical adaptation, opened to USD 226 million worldwide, with USD 150 million of its ticket sales coming from North America.

The film is also universally lauded, with audiences giving a 95 percent rating to the film.

Its success at the box office broke its own record, becoming the biggest opening for a Broadway musical adaptation (the previous record held by last year's "Wicked" at USD 112.5 million). It is also the second-best three-day opening of 2025 behind "A Minecraft Movie" (USD 208.9 million).

The movie is also the fifth biggest opening of all time for any musical behind titles like "The Lion King," "Moana 2," "Frozen 2," and "Beauty and the Beast".
