13 Jul - Sir Anthony Hopkins is set to release his debut album at the age of 88. And it is no ordinary music album.

The news was shared by Decca Classic, the label that is releasing the album, writing, "We are proud to announce the signing of Academy Award-winning actor, composer, and Welsh cultural icon, Sir Anthony Hopkins."

"Sir Anthony's first album released on the label, Life Is A Dream, was recorded with the internationally renowned Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, and brings his passion for classical music to the forefront, presenting a deeply personal collection of original compositions that reflect a lifetime of creativity, imagination and storytelling."

The Oscar-winning actor, who has played piano since the age of three or four, recently dropped his first single, "Bracken Road," inspired by his childhood memories of Margam in South Wales, as well as "the streets, meadows, farmland, and mountains around his family home in the 1940s."

Hopkins stated, "I've been composing music all my life. Some of these pieces have lived with me for decades and I still find myself returning to them. My whole life is a dream. Signing with Decca is the honour of a lifetime."
