27 Apr - A film editor named Pradeep E Raghav has now been suspended from the Southern India Film Editors Association (SIFEA) in the case of the illegal online leak of Vijay's yet-to-be-released film, "Jana Nayagan".

The news was confirmed by SIFEA following its emergency executive committee meeting held on 17 April, stating that while Raghav may not be directly responsible for the leak, he has admitted to negligence in handling the editing work by employing non-union members as his assistants.

It is noted that the editor has repeatedly violated the rule.

"The association has a responsibility to prevent such undesirable incidents in the future to protect the integrity of the film industry," the association stated. "If this trend continues, the very functioning of the industry is at risk."

SIFEA also stated that it will not extend any support to Raghav during this period.

Previously, the makers of "Jana Nayagan" released a statement blasting the illegal leak of the movie, which was being under review with the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). The film, which is Vijay's swansong before his full entry into politics, has yet to have a release date since its censorship issue in January.
