12 Jun - After being snubbed multiple times, it looks like Glenn Close is finally getting an Oscar, albeit an honorary one.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently announced that it will be presenting Honorary Oscars to five honorees, including the 79-year-old veteran actress Glenn Close, legendary director Ridley Scott and Disney's first Black animator, Floyd Norman.

The ceremony will be held at the Academy's 17th Governors Awards on 15 November at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.

Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor stated, "Throughout her extraordinary body of work, Glenn Close's unparalleled emotional range has brought to life some of the most complex characters in cinema. Floyd Norman is the legendary animator who has broken barriers and inspired generations of artists over his remarkable career. Sir Ridley Scott is a true visionary whose decades-long legacy has left an immeasurable impact on global cinema and culture."

Close has been nominated for an Oscar eight times throughout her career, tied with the late Peter O'Toole for the most acting nominations without a win in Oscar history. This includes her feature debut, "The World According to Garp," as well as films like "Fatal Attraction," "The Wife," and "Hillbilly Elegy".
