18 May - It was reported that James Franco is set to join the cast of the upcoming prequel, "John Rambo".

Sources revealed that the actor will have a small villain role in the movie, and will be joining the likes of Noah Centineo and David Harbour, who will play the titular character and Rambo's commanding officer Major Trautman, respectively.

The upcoming film, directed by Jalmari Helander, will be a story that takes place before the 1982's "First Blood" starring Sylvester Stallone. The film is executive produced by Stallone.

The film has recently wrapped up production in Thailand. Other co-stars include Yao, Jason Tobin, Quincy Isaiah and "White Lotus" actor, Tayme Thapthimthong.

It is noted that Franco has several movies currently in postproduction, including playing Fidel Castro in "Castro's Daughter" and the adaptation of the 1999 novel, "The Long Home".
