Will Vijay's "Jana Nayagan" be heading to the big screen at long last?
29 Apr - Sources are saying that "Jana Nayagan" is finally releasing in cinemas after months of censorship lock.

As reported on Pinkvilla, the movie, which is Vijay's final film before he throws himself fully into politics, is said to hit the big screen on 8 May, and that the official announcement will be made soon.

The rumour came amid various challenges that the movie had to face since announcing its Pongal 2026 release date late last year.

The movie, which was held in a censorship limbo over issues between the production team and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) also faced online leak issue, which resulted in the suspension of a film editor.

The most recent problem came from Madurai, as residents of Papapatti, Pagathevanpatti, and Peyampatti have taken to open protests, accusing the movie of disrespecting their identity and supposedly misrepresent their villages.
