The upcoming movie, which is set in the Exorcist universe but not a remake nor a sequel, is penned by Flanagan, who will be directing as well.

The movie is to be produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, as well as Morgan Creek Entertainment, and is set for 12 March 2027 release.
