4 May - After a week of release, it was revealed that the comedy movie, "Libang Libu" has made RM7.5 million at the box office.

The news was shared by the team via social media on 2 May, with its lead actor Beto Kusyairy revealing the good news during a screening of the film, saying, "From Libang Libu team, we would like to officially announce that after a week of release, the movie has made RM7.5 million! Thank you!"

"Thank you Malaysia... Please continue to support Libang Libu," the caption read, adding Amerul Affendi character Man Pilem's famous words, "Thank you tau!"

The movie went viral since its release in cinemas back on 24 April, with many likening it to Mamat Khalid's films for its social commentary and Perakian flavour.

The Bobby Husaini movie, starring a slew of big names from Nabila Huda, Fikry Ibrahim, Sara Ali, Ozlynn Waty and Dato Razak Ahmad, tells the story of two brothers, Alid (Beto Kusyairy) and Man Pilem (Amerul Affendi), one a respected man in their village and the other a debt-laden movie worker who keeps making life harder for his brother.
