13 Aug - A new Gilderoy Lockhart has been unlocked, as it was revealed that Nicholas Hoult will be playing the pompous professor in the upcoming season of HBO's "Harry Potter".

The "Superman" actor succeeds Kenneth Branagh, who played the role in the 2002 Harry Potter sequel, "Chamber of Secrets".

The character arrives in the second book of the same name as a celebrated wizard known for his many heroic deeds, though later revealed to be a fraud who uses Memory Charms to make real heroes forget their deeds and take credit for them instead.

Although the first season of the series is only premiering in December this year, HBO has already greenlit season two back in May.

The upcoming show features new cast members: Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley).

Others include John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Rory Wilmot (Neville Longbottom) and Lox Pratt (Draco Malfoy).
