19 Mar - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has recently addressed the recent controversy surrounding the alleged manhandling of Teyana Taylor by a security guard at the 98th Oscars.

In a statement released to the media, the organiser stated that they are extremely upset to learn about the experience endured by the "One Battle After Another" star during the event that was held on 15 March.

"We have worked with Teyana over the last several months during awards season, and she has been nothing short of remarkable, supportive, kind, and all about community. Though the incident was with our outside security firm SIS, the experience of every single guest is our responsibility," the statement read.

"We have made it clear to them that this behaviour is not acceptable. We want to thank Teyana for showing remarkable grace, and we are taking the appropriate measures to ensure this does not happen again."

According to a witness who saw the altercation, Taylor was coming down to help Pam Abdy get onto the stage for a group photo. However, a security guard reportedly stopped them forcibly from going back to the stage. That was when Taylor got angry and the altercation happened.

Speaking about the incident afterwards, Taylor said, "Security was just doing a lot. There's always that one, but I'm perfectly fine. I'm happy. There's nothing to wonder."
