30 Jun - Ranveer Singh is gearing up for what could be his most ambitious project yet. The Bollywood star is set to begin filming "Pralay", a big-budget zombie thriller directed by first-time feature filmmaker Jai Mehta, with production scheduled to kick off in Australia this September.
The film imagines a post-apocalyptic Mumbai ravaged by a zombie outbreak, following a married couple fighting to survive. Think dystopian cityscapes, digitally aged streets, and heavy VFX - with the makers reportedly drawing inspiration from "The Hunger Games" aesthetic to reimagine the city in ruins.
With a reported budget of 300 crore, the zombie genre "Pralay" is shaping up to be the priciest standalone film of Ranveer's career. The 41-year-old has reportedly been hands-on from the start, joining creative discussions on the script, visual style, and the broader zombie universe being built around the story. Kalyani Priyadarshan is expected to star opposite Ranveer, which would mark her Hindi cinema debut.
