19 May - Jeff Fowler recently announced that the fourth instalment of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise has now wrapped up filming.

In a post on social media on 16 May, the filmmaker shared a photo of himself with a puppet of Metal Sonic, the evil robot version of Sonic from the game, and wrote, "And that's a wrap on #SonicMovie4!!!"

"On behalf of this amazing cast/crew, we have filmed the BEST Sonic Movie yet and can't wait to share," he added.

The fourth film sees the return of Ben Schwartz as the titular character, joined by Kristen Bell as Amy Rose, Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Tails, Idris Elba as Knuckles and Keanu Reeves as Shadow.

Rounding up the cast are Jim Carrey, James Marsden and Tika Sumpter.

The last movie, released in 2024, made nearly USD 500 million at the box office with a budget of USD 122 million.
