The "Terbang" team unveils the trailer and official poster

5 Aug - Malaysia is set to witness an extraordinary story that celebrates courage beyond limits, an indomitable fighting spirit, and national pride with the arrival of the highly anticipated film, "Terbang", which will open in cinemas nationwide on 17 September 2026.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Chiu Keng Guan of "OlaBola" and "The Journey" fame, the film recently unveiled its official poster and trailer. The poster features dynamic, high-energy visuals that reflect speed, intensity, and the soaring spirit of Malaysia. Meanwhile, the official trailer offers audiences a thrilling first-look at the action-packed story and emotionally charged journey that awaits.

Inspired by the real-life journey of national rally legend Karamjit Singh, "Terbang" tells the story of a Malaysian who dares to defy limits and push beyond boundaries in pursuit of glory for the nation on the international stage.

"Terbang" elevates Malaysia's story on the world stage

Astro Shaw Head, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, said, "Terbang is a film that brings a Malaysian story to the world stage while embodying the local team spirit that dares to transcend boundaries. We are proud to present this film in cinemas nationwide on 17 September. The release date coincides with the Malaysia Day celebration, making it especially meaningful as it honours the values of unity, national pride, and our shared identity as Malaysians."

In the lead-up to the film's release, audiences are invited to the movie's "Kita Terbang Sama-Sama" campaign. Through this campaign, a wide range of initiatives will be rolled out across multiple platforms, including on-ground activations, radio collaborations, contests, and engaging content experiences that will allow Malaysians to immerse themselves in the world of TERBANG.

Rally Challenge with TERBANG x STING
Through this contest, members of the public are challenged to recreate the most creative rally engine sounds on social media. The five entries with the highest number of likes will stand a chance to join the TERBANG x STING Rally Challenge, where participants can experience the thrill of a rally circuit firsthand with Karamjit Singh on 8 August 2026. More information is available on Astro Shaw's social media platforms. The contest runs until 6 August 2026.

EV Road Trip with TERBANG x STING
This special road trip from Kuala Lumpur to Johor will feature a convoy of electric vehicles (EVs), joined by the film's cast and fans, offering an exclusive TERBANG x STING experience. Fans are invited to participate using their own EVs while enjoying a variety of activities inspired by the spirit of TERBANG. The journey will take place on 2 September 2026, with the flag-off scheduled for 8 AM.

TERBANG x UMobile
Through its collaboration with U Mobile, TERBANG takes fans beyond the screen with The Making Of (TMO), an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience that unveils the filmmaking process and the cutting-edge technology used to bring the film to life.

Fans will also have the opportunity to collect exclusive TERBANG merchandise and attend special meet-and-greet sessions with the cast, getting closer than ever to the world of TERBANG.

Participants are invited to design their dream rally car and submit a video showcasing their creative process. Entries are encouraged to highlight unique concepts, colour choices and overall design execution. The most creative submission will be selected as the winner and will receive exciting prizes. TERBANG di Acara ART of Speed
Join Malaysia's largest automotive and lifestyle festival, taking place at MAEPS, Serdang, on 1 and 2 August 2026. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the cast of TERBANG as well as Malaysia's rally legend, Karamjit Singh.

Let Your Creativity Fly STING Challenge
In partnership with STING, fans are invited to create their own TERBANG-inspired posters and videos. Twenty winners will be selected, and their creations will be featured as part of the TERBANG campaign. Winners will also receive exclusive invitations to the TERBANG Gala Night.
