"Jana Nayagan" has been in censorship limbo
12 May - Venkat Narayana, the producer of the long-delayed Vijay-starrer, "Jana Nayagan," recently addressed the movie status, amid rumours that it will be released in late May or early June.

On 10 May, the producer of the KVN banner, who attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, said that the film will be released as soon as it receives clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

"We are waiting for the CBFC certificate. As soon as we get it, we will release the film," he said.

Narayana also congratulated Vijay for his new political position, saying, "A new chapter begins. I am sure he will fulfil all his promises. 'Jana Nayagan' will release as soon as we get the certificate."

The movie has been in a censorship limbo since early this year, when it did not receive the greenlight for its scheduled Pongal release earlier this year in January. The delay even led to the film being leaked online.

"Jana Nayagan" marks the final film for the actor, who decided to retire from showbiz to focus on his political career with his party, TVK.
