11 May - Just as Vijay, now using his full name C. Joseph Vijay, took his oath as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry flocked to social media to congratulate the actor for his new position.

Kamal Haasan posted his congratulatory remark on X, writing, "May the state of Tamil Nadu shine under the leadership of the president of the Tamil Nadu Victory League, the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, my brother Thiru. May it reach new heights."

Karthik Subbaraj posted, "All the very best to Chief Minister [Vijay] sir and his whole team. Best wishes for giving us a Best Governance."

Prabudheva, who previously performed as one of the choreographers at the "Jana Nayagan" audio launch event in Malaysia late last year, wrote, "Wonderman! Congratulations to the first Chief Minister!"

Director RJ Balaji also shared his own posted of Vijay, writing, "Knowing you and your intentions, look forward to your inclusive and progressive government taking our glorious state to the next level! Wishing you only the best, sir!"

It was on 10 May that the "Greatest of All Time" star swore in as the new Chief Minister, after his party TVK won 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu assembly. Days following the election, Vijay and his team went to seek alliances to form the government in order to fulfil the 118-seat majority.
