Antonio Banderas stars as Jacq Vaucan, an insurance agent, in "Automata". Working at ROC Robotics corporation, he is tasked with an investigation that involves robot manipulation. In the bleak future, the man-made robots are supposed to be protecting the humans. Vaucan`s investigation soon leads him, the corporation and police in a battle with profound consequences for the future of humanity.

The Good, the Bad and the Automata Pilgrim

• An excellent robot dystopian film that is underrated but worth watching.
• The film is like a blend of "Blade Runner" and "I, Robot" with compelling apocalyptic theme and visually outstanding effects.
• Main actor Antonia Banderas played his role well, but Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Melanie Griffith seem a bit stiff and monotonous.

Trivia

• After "Cherry 2000", this is the second time where Melanie Griffith appears in a movie related with robots and post-apocalyptic futures.
