Jake raises his daughter Katie on his own after his wife died in a fatal car accident and he suffered a mental breakdown. He struggles with the daily routines he has to go through to make sure she lives happily. His relatives intend to take Katie away from him but Jake knows that he has to hold on to the one thing that he loves the most - his daughter.

The Good, the Bad and the Family Bond:

• The story is predictable but in good way as it is still a touching piece, and the cast did a great job in portraying the story on screen.

• Great choice of background music which goes perfectly well with the movie and also adds so much more to the story.

• Though the film can be a bit old fashioned and soap-y, but that is what makes the film unique as it is set in a modern-day situation.

Trivia:

• Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried previously worked together in "Les Miserables".
