Set in a time shortly after the World War II, Eda attends a boys` elementary school in a class with a complete lack of discipline. The class is so wild to the point that their teacher quits her job. To solve the disciplinary issue of the class, the schoolmaster hires a new male teacher, Igor Hnízdo, an alleged war hero. Hnízdo implements corporal punishment in the class, which is allowed by the Ministry of Education due to the boys` dreadful behaviour. Though he is strict, the boys are attracted to his way of justice and love hearing all the exciting battlefront stories. But when rumours regarding Hnízdo as a false war hero start circulating, the boys defend their teacher and help him regain back his innocence.

Berlatarkan selepas Perang Dunia II, Eda telah pergi ke sekolah rendah lelaki yang mana pelajar-pelajar tidak mempunyai disiplin langsung. Sikap pelajar yang liar dan kurang ajar telah menyebabkan guru-guru mereka berhenti. Untuk menyelesaikan masalah disiplin, pengetua sekolah telah mengambil guru lelaki baru, Igor Hnizdo, seorang wira perang. Hnizdo telah memperkenalkan hukuman korporal di dalam kelas yang mana ia dibenarkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan berikutan sikap biadap pelajar-pelajar itu. Walaupun dia tegas, tetapi pelajarnya tertarik dengan sikap adilnya dan suka mendengar kisah peperangannya. Apabila khabar angin yang mendakwa Hnizdo adalah hero perang palsu tersebar, pelajar-pelajarnya mempertahankan guru mereka dan membantunya membersihkan namanya.
