An overly-protective clown fish named Marlin who lives in the Great Barrier Reef loses his son, Nemo, when he ventures into the open sea, despite his father`s constant warnings about the ocean`s many dangers. Nemo is caught in a net set by a fishing boat and soon ends up in a dentist`s office in Sydney. In his quest to rescue Nemo, Marlin meets a fish named Dory, a blue regal tang suffering from short-term memory loss. Along the way, the two of them learn many things, and the greatest lesson is that sometimes, you just have to trust in someone.

Seekor ikan badut di Great Barrier Reef, Marlin, yang bersikap terlalu mengambil berat telah kehilangan anaknya, Nemo, apabila Nemo tidak menurut nasihatnya tentang bahaya di laut. Nemo terperangkap di jala ikan yang dipasang oleh bot nelayan dan kemudiannya dijadikan haiwan peliharaan doktor gigi di Sydney. Dalam misi mencari Nemo, Marlin bertemu seekor ikan biru bernama Dory yang menghadapi masalah hilang ingatan jangka masa pendek. Mereka berdua mempelajari banyak perkara sepanjang perjalanan, terutama sekali dalam memberikan kepercayaan terhadap seseorang.
