After starring in Pierre Andre's "I'm Not Single" (2008), actor Farid Kamil and actress Lisa Surihani reunite in a romantic comedy entitled "Semerah Cinta Stilleto", directed by Ahmad Idham. The film tells the story of Stila (Lisa Surihani), a lone child in a wealthy family who falls in love with Leto (Farid Kamil) a youngster who lives a modest life and does not have a fixed career. Stila experiences the wonders of life whenever she's with Leto, however the joy is short lived when Stila's parents (Shaharudin Thamby and Nanu Baharudin) disapprove of their relationship.

Evidently, it is your average love story between two individuals of different social status. The comedic element is heavily incorporated into the story with a message so that it won't appear too draggy and bore the audience.

Having acted in movies of different genres, Farid's acting is noticeably improving, while Lisa returns to her usual, sweet rom-com genre after starring in the action flick "V3: Samseng Jalanan". Lisa's performance seems to be a lot stiffer here as compared to her portrayal of Kamsah in "V3", although her role as Stila is not as heavy as Kamsah's. Regardless of that, the chemistry between Farid and Lisa is good and well matched. The movie also casts Cat Farish, Kamal Adli, Zed Zaidi, Maimon Mutalib, and Datuk Jamali Shadat. While all of the actors were able to portray their roles well, there were times where the writer wished Angah's voice (of Reality TV "Raja Lawak" fame) would tone down as it was annoyingly high-pitched to anyone's liking.

With an easy going plot and good acting, this romantic comedy is able to entice romantics at heart. Meanwhile, Farid and Lisa fans can look forward to "Lagenda Budak Setan", releasing in June 2010, as the duo will be re-teaming once more.
