There are a couple of debuts in this movie as "Belukar" is the first feature film under the direction of the multitalented Jason Chong and is the first time Daphne Iking lands herself in the lead role!

"Belukar" tells the story of a professional insurance swindler Eve (Daphne Iking) who is hoping to get a claim of RM100 million before she retires from her work. Meanwhile, Nik the investigator (Bront Palarae) was assigned to find evidence of Eve's acts. However, both of them fall in love after meeting face to face.

This writer feels that the movie is different from most locally produced films as the storyline gives an extra edge seeing that most local film are more likely to portray comedies and the lives of street racers. Chong, who is also a scriptwriter, delivers a thriller with a twist of romance and comedy that makes it more intriguing to watch. Moreover, "Belukar" brilliantly showcases the culture and beauty of Sabah where the movie was shot at.

The cast didn't disappoint and the performances by Daphne and Bront deserved praise. The chemistry between them is compatible especially during the bathroom scene where Daphne needed to be very close with Bront. Watching that scene would make people feel that Daphne is really a temptress. Regardless of that, "Belukar" will see a combination of veteran and new actors namely Azhar Sulaiman, Datuk Ahmad Tarmimi Siregar, Danny Anwa, Chew Kin Wah, Azwan Kombos and Sabrina Hassan.

Viewers will also be entertained with the film's soundtrack bearing songs from Azlan & The Typewriter, Farah Asyikin, Coco D Monday, Witherspoon, Gerhana Ska Cinta and more!
