Watch this if you liked: "Papadom" and "Appalam".

Directed by Afdlin Shauki, the success of "Papadom" in 2009 has resulted in the sequel, "Papadom 2" and it will no doubt be among the best films for 2013.

This is because it not only touches the heart, but also the soul. The director once again manages to combine elements of humor and emotions , thus providing a new soul wrenching story for audiences to see. "Papadom " not only manages to combine elements of comedy and drama , but it still retains the 1Malaysia message of the relationship between Saadom and two friends of different races.

The film tells the story of Saadom and daughter, Mia (Liyana Jasmay) which has now grown up and working in Kuala Lumpur. Saadom went to visit her after getting to know how Mia fell in love and is ready to marry the man of her choice. To investigate the background, Saadom poses at work on a set of Mia's job to investigate whether the lover is suitable as an in-law.

In the author's view, Afdlin has reached mature phases in the making of each film. Although previously Afdlin has mixed comedy and drama well in the movie "Buli Balik" and "Papadom", but for the film "Papadom 2" the average audience can laugh, cry and experience what rarely happens at the movies.
The author would also like to commend the director and screenwriter, Haris M. Nor and Nurul Akmar Salajudin for producing a good script. Afdlin also incorporates elements of humor and seriousness in a scene very well, but some of the issues and situations that presented was indeed serious , and it is successfully communicated and it all corresponds to the scenes, thereby delivering a dramatic comedy.
In terms of acting, the relationship between Afdlin and Liyana Jasmay felt undeniably real. They managed to bring the characters up properly and efficiently, as the father-daughter relationship that it appears to be.

Praise should also be given to the beautiful actress, Vanida Imran, who also gave the film an effective response and what the author was surprised was how Khir Rahman left the audience in stitches with this talent as a veteran actor and a true artist.

Among the other actors in the show are Hans Isaac and who provided more of the beauty of character developments in this film.

Overall, what the writer can conclude here is the latest work by Afdlin makes for an entertaining masterpiece, full of sadness and laughter. It is a family film that can make you feel like it will bring you together.
