Hantu Kak Limah 2: Husin, Mon Dan Jin Pakai Toncit

After the events of "Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah", Husin returns to his village in order to deal with his money problems - which he has none of! In the village, Husin reunites with the usual patrons of Pak Jabit`s stall and everything seems to be as normal as it could be. However, what Husin doesn`t realise is that there is a new breed of evil returning after more than a century of slumber to claim the village`s long standing debt and Husin too of course!
Watch this if you liked: “Hantu Kak Limah: Balik Rumah”

Congratulations to the director that's known for having good ideas for films, Mamat Khalid, for making the movie, "Hantu Kak Limah 2: Husin, Mon and Jin Pakai Toncit".

After making audiences miss the fresh characters in Mamat Khalid's previous films in 2010, and almost two years of waiting, the sequel is finally released today in 2013.

Even though the film has the same characters like Usop Wilcha, Husin, Pak Man and many others, "Hantu Kak Limah 2" is quite different compared to the first movie.

In terms of the storyline, it is certainly a far cry from the story of "Hantu Kak Limah: Balik Rumah". There was a lot of priority given to the characters of the village themselves as they unite in chaos when they realise they had lost Husin in the forest. The story finally sets when Husin was finally found with eerie apparitions of the ghost Mon. Ezlynn's superb acting as the ghost Mon should be applauded as she had to sing and act at the same time.

Awie's credibility does not need any denying in his film as Awie is seen looking rugged with his band, Wings. But in this film, he casually gives his Husin character some life with his hilarious and gentler character. He had very genuine and soft characteristics.

Awie also emphasised how different the film was to the previous one. Don't expect to recognise the original story of the banana village as you watch the second. It is extremely different.

Maybe there will be people who would love it more but as a writer personally, the epic first movie of Mamat Khalid felt more aggressive was funnier and more cohesive as a storyline. But in my opinion, there had been some repetition of dialogue that was synonymous to the first.

Perhaps Mamat Khalid could bring more depth in his dialogue, like he commonly had done before in "Zombie Kampung Pisang" and "Dikala Bulan Mengambang". Possibly, Mamat Khalid's hardcore fans wanted a better dialogue, so trust that if the audience expects what Usop Wilcha and the others have brought before, it will seem dead and boring to them.

For the wardrobe designers, the ghost Mon's collection was hilarious with the bright red-coloured loose kebaya. There was no spark in it. They should have tried to create a specially designed costume just to give it more variety. Slippers were also worn so there was definitely no uniqueness there, and it seemed like it was the artist's own. While the film was great, there were little details like these that should have been looking into more seriously to make it neater and have more sense.
