Michael Tse has been making a lasting impression with his performance as Laughing Gor in the TVB drama cop series, "Emergency Unit" and the most recent one called "Lives Of Omission". In 2009, the character's popularity has led Tse to star in "Turning Point", an action-thriller that tells the story behind Laughing Gor before the events in "E.U". This time, Tse is back with his famous role in "Turning Point: Laughing Gor Returns", which follows the events that occurred in "Lives Of Omission".

Herman Yau the director of "The Legend Is Born: Ip Man", once again pours out his directorial effort for the sequel of "Turning Point". He presents the investigative story of Laughing Gor (Michael Tze), who gets himself into prison for undercover purposes after admitting himself as the killer of So (Bosco Wong). But soon he finds himself threatened with the appearance of Fok Tim Yan (Francis Ng), a very mysterious and intelligent psychology professor who is imprisoned for drug possession. The danger of being an undercover cop and Fok's mystery soon challenges Laughing Gor during his missions.

Although Michael Tse's portrayal of Laughing Gor in this piece appears to be less surprising as there was not much difference between his acting as seen from television to movie, other casts' performances are amazing, especially Francis Ng, the three time winner of Hong Kong Film Critics Society Best Actor Award, who brings so much intensity to the unpredictable plots with his convincing acting skills. His logic of profound knowledge and views, eye movements, and secrets will intrigue your curiosity on how extreme can a person be when it comes to defining the ugly truth of justice in society.

Many of the audience will find that they are familiar with Chapman To's comedic style of acting in the past, and in "Turning Point: Laughing Gor Returns", the 40-year-old actor has put up a good show with his serious and a villainous character, Tai Chit, in the scenes opposite top notch actors like Tze and Ng.

The efforts of the screenwriters' are able to audiences with critical thinking storylines of good versus evil that are exciting enough to make you forget about the crave for more thrilling gun-shooting scenes. Meanwhile, you will also find yourself struggling with the dilemma faced by Laughing Gor whenever he has to make choices in protecting real justice and the people around him.

Overall, this movie is a reflection on the hidden and ugly side of the complicated society we are living in and thus, it can be a good reminder for the audience to not cross the boundaries of justice and the importance of forming fairness among the people.
