A young teacher interning at an elementary school is nicknamed Sub. Sam by the students. One of the students is especially glad of Sub. Sam`s arrival as the teacher is able to see him as the clever, cheerful and funny student that he is. As opposed to Miss Sanne who only thinks of him as trouble.

Filem lucu yang menceritakan tentang seorang guru pelatih di sebuah sekolah rendah. Guru itu diberi gelaran Sub. Sam oleh kanak-kanak yang diajarnya. Tobias, salah seorang kanak-kanak tersebut, merupakan seorang yang cerdik, periang dan kelakar, tetapi gurunya yang bernama Miss Sanne hanya melihatnya sebagai seorang yang nakal. Tobias gembira kerana Sub. Sam sebaliknya dapat melihat dirinya yang sebenar.
