Stories of social ills are rather common in every form of society, the only difference being where these stories take place. A big city such as Kuala Lumpur not only serves as a melting pot for every culture, it is also a place for those who seek a better life from what they used to have back in their 'kampung'. But amongst these many hopefuls, a few would stray away from their original intentions and find themselves embroiled in vices and mixing around with the gangster crowd.

Also known as "Bohsia 2: Jalan Kembali", the movie is a sequel to "Bohsia: Jangan Pilih Jalan Hitam" in 2009. Syamsul Yusof returns to direct the story of a bohsia's life, played by Nabila Huda. Tasha (Nabila Huda) is a girl who grew up without a family and education, forcing her to seek refuge in the underworld, amongst the street gangsters. She soon grows tired of her meaningless life, but her road to redemption is one paved with many obstacles.

Syamsul Yusuf ("Khurafat", "Evolusi KL Drift"), the young director/actor for the "Bohsia 2: Jalan Kembali" tries to tackle the issues that were previously dealt with in "Bohsia: Jangan Pilih Jalan Hitam", however, the comparisons between this and its prequel can be derived from the film's genres itself, as the sequel contains religious themes, comedy, action and even drama. Apart from that, the film also sees the return of the previous cast such as Syamsul Yusuf, Nabila Huda, and Salina Saibi in their roles as Muz, Tasha and Amy respectively. The film also introduces some new characters that were not made available in the previous film such as Ijan and Keting played by Zizan Razak and Sofi Jikan respectively, together with some additional characters that actually helped in the forming of the storyline.

Also, instead on focusing on Tasha's character alone, the film turns the audience's attention to Amy (Salina Saibi) from where the last film left off. The film also chronicles her road to redemption and the obstacles she had to encounter from unruly individuals in order to turn over a new leaf, and how her relationships with her friends Tasha and Muz have become. For those who did not watch the first instalment of the film should not be discouraged to watch this film as from time to time the storyline and characters would make references to the original film though its dialogue and flashbacks.

Syamsul has certainly came a long way since the original and matured nicely into his character as Muz, while Salina Saibi and Nabila played their parts as a reformed bohsia and bohsia respectively with convincing attitude and should be applauded for their acting chops. As for Zizan Razak, his character as the clown of the film pretty much resembles his roles in other films. Apart from that Sofi Jikan as Keting might have seemed convincing at first as a degenerate Mat Rempit, but as the film moves on, his acting becomes more annoying and noisy, and his over dramatic acting does not really help to sell his character as a Mat Rempit.

Syamsul's films have always been known for its action scenes, packed with car chases, high-powered motorbikes, surreal fighting scenes and auto accidents, so you should not be surprised to see such elements being shown in this film, as it will definitely get your adrenaline pumping! So if you are a fan of Syamsul or a fan of films of similar genre, then you definitely should have a go. However this film may not be suitable for all ages as it involves a lot of sexual scenes, innuendos and languages that may not be appropriate for young adults.
