The Grandmaster

With martial arts getting more popular in the 30`s, more people seek to learn them via the professionals at Foshan in Southern China. Some of the experienced masters like to challenge their counterparts in undergound battles. In order to fully concentrate, it is customary practice to lock up the venues to prevent people from leaving during battles and no food and rest is given before the results are reached. Ip Man is a young, rich man who is extremely talented in martial arts, but chooses to keep a low profile. He makes his public debut when he is trapped in an underground battle one day where he has to use every means at his disposal in order to get out. Many are amazed by his abilities, especially Master Kung and his daughter Kung Yi. When a high warlord is assassinated by his own guard Yi Xian Tian, all the masters in Foshan vow to take Tian down no matter what, and recruit Ip Man for this mission. In martial arts there is no right or wrong, only the last man standing.
