Successful debt collector Chiu (Chapman To) takes pity on a group of wannabe pop starlets when he goes to collect debt from an agency. Thinking he could do better in making the business a profitable one, he takes over the company only to realize that he has bitten more than he can chew.

The film was rather entertaining. Although the general plot of the story was very predictable, the film had many scenes that were rather surprising and amusing. With scenes constantly changing, there was never really a dull moment watching the film.

The film did not feel like it would drag too long as it uses every opportunity it can to amuse and entertain audience, as well as expand on some character development.

With this kind of film, it is best to not think about it too critically as it ruins the fun. But this does not mean there is not much to think about as the film uses the dreaded flashback within a flashback method to build its story.

With the many scenes it has and no way to tell when the flashbacks are over other than the narration (if any) and familiar scenes, there is some potential for confusion. While flashbacks within flashbacks is a rather cliche way of dragging a story and expanding on characters, it does seem to have worked out well.

The film is laced with quirky characters which are perhaps expected of the film but some characters are too eccentric and over the top, which could be a turn off to some in the audience.

As for the starlets in the film, perhaps there were too many of them. Not all get the same level of character development and it was hard to tell them apart sometimes. As for the cast, they played their roles well and nothing felt too out of place.

As a whole, the film was indeed entertaining and if you have a taste for Hong Kong films, this film might be worth watching.
