Eddie Redmayne stars as theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, world-famous author of "A Brief History Of Time", opposite Felicity Jones. The movie explores the excitement of the 1960s for Stephen as he studies at Cambridge University. At the dawn of a brilliant life`s work, he falls passionately in love with arts student Jane Wilde. Their relationship leads him through personal and scientific challenges and breakthroughs, and as his world opens up he opens up the entire world to new ways of seeing.

The Good, the Bad and the Hawking:

• Physics might not be the easiest thing to comprehend but the movie does not suffocate the audience with jargon, instead choosing to use visual accompaniment that illustrates Hawking's brilliant mind perfectly.

• Eddie Redmayne's dedication to his Hawking character shines in the movie. Even the real Hawking felt Redmayne's portrayal of himself was on point.

• The romance between Hawking and Wilde is played out beautifully without it ending up looking like a typical Hollywood romcom.

Trivia:

• Stephen Hawking not only lent his copyrighted voice, the great physicist also lent the filmmakers some genuine props for the film - his Medal of Freedom medallion and his signed thesis.
