This film by Ramesh Aravind tells the story of Uttaman, an 8th century drama actor, and Manoranjan, a 21st century cinema star. Manoranjan`s mentor is the individual responsible in grooming him to his status of superstardom. The film`s cast is made up of Kamal Haasan, Jayaram and Pooja as the leads, as well as Andrea Jeremiah, K. Balachander and Nassar.

• The film is a masterpiece classic that serves as a tribute to the late K Balachander.
