"Ombak Rindu"The Good, the Bad and the Boundless Love:
After the tremendous success of "Ombak Rindu" in 2011, director Osman Ali presents his latest tear-jerking film "Langit Cinta" which is set to quench the thirst of many romance genre fans in Malaysia.
No doubt that Osman Ali's latest film is of a high quality production not only in terms of its amazingly written plot, but also the wonderful performance of the highly talented cast as well as the creative cinematography skills.
Although the romance genre film is kind of overrated in Malaysia and most of the time the plots are quite cliched and pretty much the same, the way the director matches the script with the visuals really brings out the essence of the film which touches the heart of the audience.
Even for those who are not fans of the romance genre will be drawn to the screen as the melodramatic plot is kind of addictive, making the audience curious to know what's going to happen next.
Not much is left to be said for the characters, as the cast is made up of top-notch local artistes like Keith Foo, Nur Fazura, Farid Kamil, Siti Saleha, Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, Fauziah Ahmad Daud and Dian P Ramlee. Thus, the performances delivered are simply astounding and relatable.
However, Fazura's Kedah dialect doesn't quite sound right at first, but as she delves deeper into her character, the small details just doesn't matter anymore as she manages to bring one to tears with her skilful acting performance. Trivia
• The film marks the first time Keith Foo and Nur Fazura have collaborated together.
• Farid Kamil had intentionally tanned his skin to fit into his role as a fisherman. Cinema Online, 05 January 2016
