Watch this if you liked: “The Smurfs”

The Good, the Bad and the Lost Village:

• This film brings back the wonderful joy of the original classic from the comics as well as the 80s cartoon, and this adaptation is definitely better than the previous two live-action/animation films.

• The plot is fairly straightforward with adventure at the forefront. It is a standard, kid-friendly entertainment which succeeds at bringing the colourful Smurfs universe to playfully-animated life.

• Learning the mistakes from the past two adaptations, this version of Smurfs avoids the misplaced pop culture references and overused Smurf puns which got people annoyed with the last two films.

• The movie is obviously aimed for the younger audience as the jokes are easy to understand, the plot is simple, and there are a few catchy songs here and there.

• The movie shouldn't be compared to 'heavier' themed animated movies from Disney and Pixar like "Moana" or "Inside Out", as the emphasis in this one is mostly the cuteness of the Smurf characters.

• Baker Smurf is voiced by real life chef, Gordon Ramsay.
