20 years ago, Trolls managed to escape from the pessimistic Bergens who will only become happy after eating the Trolls, and today, they live in a peaceful and happy community in the woods under the reign of optimistic leader Princess Poppy. But one day, Poppy throws a huge party and accidentally attracts the attention of a banished Bergen, Chef, who then kidnaps several Trolls. Feeling responsible for it, Poppy decides to embark on a quest to save her friends, and she drags along Branch, a paranoid disgruntled survivalist. Together, the two polar opposite Trolls must learn to get along as they venture far beyond the only world they`ve ever known.

Komuniti Trolls hidup aman dan gembira di bawah naungan Puteri Poppy. Satu hari, Poppy telah membuat satu parti besar dan secara tidak sengaja telah menarik perhatian Bergen, raksasa pesimis yang hanya akan gembira selepas memakan troll. Bergen yang bernama Chef telah menculik beberapa Trolls. Merasakan dirinya bertanggungjawab, Poppy telah mengambil keputusan untuk menyelamatkan rakannya, dan dia membawa sekali Branch iaitu troll yang bersikap paranoid. Bersama, kedua-dua mereka perlu bekerjasama dalam mengembara ke dunia yang mereka tidak tahu.

The Good, the Bad and the Colourful Trolls:

• The cast voices each of his or her own character perfectly, and of course, hits all the right notes every time they belt out a song (which is almost every second of the movie).

• With a simple storyline, the movie may be just a one-time watch for most adults, except for those who are young at heart.

• But it is definitely the perfect movie to play on loop for little kids who will no doubt be entertained by the bright, colourful imagery and very upbeat songs.

Trivia:

• This is DreamWorks Animation's first animated musical film since 1998's "The Prince of Egypt".

• The movie is based on the troll dolls created by Thomas Dam.
