In this remake of the 1977 movie, a forest ranger on the job in the woods stumbles across a little boy named Pete. Curious as to how the boy can survive in the forest alone for six years, she and her father set out to investigate. When the boy starts telling stories of a dragon, no one believes him.

The Good, the Bad and the Green Dragon:

• One of the best Disney remakes in years, "Pete's Dragon is a classic family-friendly and whimsical tale which focuses on the wonder of adventure and the power of fantasy.

• The film perfectly blends emotion and action in a heart-warming adventure of friendship and bravery, and despite being a remake, the film introduces a brand new story and world.

• The main highlight of the film has to be the green furry dragon, Elliot, who seems more like a big friendly dog, rather than a dragon or dinosaur, and even though the dragon is entirely CGI, he results look fantastically life-like.

Trivia:

• The reason why the dragon is furry is because director David Lowery wanted to make it seem like "the kind of dragon you really want to give a hug to" as quoted by IGN.
