Set in the Aokigahara Forest or also known as Suicide Forest, which is notorious as a place where people commit suicide, a young American woman named Sara is in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared in the Japanese forest. Despite the warnings from the villagers, Sara travels into the ghost-filled forest to save her sister only to discover the truth while being confronted by angry and tormented souls of the dead that prey on anyone who crosses their paths.

Berlatarbelakangkan Hutan Aokigahara, Jepun yang mana merupakan tempat orang menamatkan hidup mereka di situ. Seorang wanita Amerika, Sara, telah ke tempat tersebut bagi mencari kembarnya yang hilang secara misteri. Walaupun ramai orang memberi amaran kepadanya supaya tidak melalui tempat itu, namun Sara memberanikan diri masuk ke hutan untuk mencari kebenaran mengenai nasib kembarnya itu. Bagaimanapun dia terpaksa berdepan dengan roh-roh yang marah dan akan menyerang sesiapa yang melalui tempat mereka.

The Good, the Bad and the Suicide Forest:

• The film plays a lot with your mind and gets you to think about what is real and what is not.

• Also, the film seems to deal more on the mental and psychological issues instead of ghosts and spirits.

• To be honest, the plot is kind of confusing with a lot of flashbacks, making you wonder about the truth.

• The film has some really decent scares, but Natalie Dormer probably isn't really cut out to be a scream queen.

Trivia:

• Natalie Dormer actually went to the Aokigahara forest for research with her Japanese driver. However, while she ventured five meters off the path to take photos, her Japanese driver wouldn't even step half an inch into the place.
